Day 6: January 27, 2013

Since it is the weekend and I have been waking up a little later, I have been taking these pictures a little later, too. The sunrise today looked very similar to yesterday, with a few clouds added in. It seems like the sun radiated out in a circle and pushed all the clouds out of the way. The blue and yellow designs worked quite nicely together to create an almost perfect sunrise.

Day 5: January 26, 2013

The clear morning sky made way for a beautiful sunrise. The orange glow across the water reflected to help make a bright glow throughout the entire sky. Behind the building on the far right is the sun, which made it quite hard to take this photo without looking directly at it. But nevertheless, it makes a great addition to this blog!

Day 4: January 25, 2013

Well, today's sunrise just keeps me wondering  why the sunrise continues to look so different each morning. The sunrise today was quite similar to day 1. The orange and blue tones were extremely vibrant, which made way for an incredible sunrise.

Day 3: January 24, 2013

The sunrise today was quite similar to the one yesterday. But instead today the main color was yellow instead of gray. I am still on a search to find out why the sunrise from day 1 looked so much different than these last two days. As the canoes floated down the canal, they made great ripples to highlight the colors of this beautiful sunrise.

Day 2: January 23, 2013

The sunrise today was much different than the one I captured yesterday. For some reason, the sun rose with this steady gray color beyond the clouds. I am not sure why the sun made such a quick appearance without a slow transition from night to dawn to day, but I hope to find out!

Day 1: January 22, 2013

Today's sunrise was quite slow since it did not rise as quick as I usually notice it to. This is only the first day, so I guess I am not really a good source of knowing how fast the sun rises. But, I do know that the orangy color of the sunrise is due to pollution. This is also why most sunsets are orange in color. The sun rose at 7:10 AM this morning, so this exact photo was taken at dawn before the sun's actual rise. The glow illuminates up the canal and makes this sunrise really breathtaking!

Welcoming the Sunshine

Wherever we are in this world, each day the sun will rise. It is so subtle. The first glows of dusk fall upon the sky and before we know it the sun is out. But what happens to that moment that was once so precious? The picturesque scene where we all envision ourselves atop a mountain or on a beach watching the first moments of the suns awakening. Most of us probably are sleeping through the first minutes of this in the darkness of our rooms, and are only alerted of the sun's presence when it comes shining through our windows. Well, my mission is to capture the moment where the sun brings its shine and rises as though it is coming out for the very first time. I would like to capture this moment every day for one year, that's a total of 365 sunrises. From my window each morning I see a different sunrise, ones of pink and orange that light up the disappearing night sky. So for the next 365 days sunrises, I will be posting a picture on this blog. I know each will be unique in its own way, and it will be neat to see what each morning has to offer. So, follow me as I begin each morning with an awe-inspiring sunrise!
